Templars are mounted Feudal units, and variants of Horsemen. They are the strongest against infantry but Crusaders are better against artillery. They require the Templar research to use, and Horse breeding can improve them. They become obsolete in the Imperial Age.
Unless you have an extra amount of research time, it is not advised to get these.
