| War-city | A settlement dedicated to only/mostly war. |
| Shifting tile | A tile that is constantly shifting hands between two opposing players. |
| Barbs | Short hand for Barbarians. |
| Lux | Short hand for Luxuries |
| Purges | Raiding the lands around you to "cleanse" your land of the barbarian army or other players. |
