The Blacksmith is a building introduced in the Classical Age.

It unlocks the ability to train several units, mostly notably the ones which require metal, as well as several research options, unlocking most melee weaponry and troop armouring upgrades, such as the Infantry Scuta.

It also provides boosts to "All Units" in battle which appears to be a 10% boost to attack, and maybe defense. For example, Classical-1 Blacksmith provides a 1-stat boost to the Ballista's 10 attack for a total of 11.

It is upgraded to a Gunsmith in the Imperial Age which provides a similar role in upgrading weaponry.
